Like I mentioned above, people don’t showcase the full picture but only the good part of their lives. On a real scale, a lot of things are there that come in picture. 

People in the age group of 15-30 are more likely to compare themselves to others on social media, which might result in FOMO (the fear of missing out). Some people are driven to continuously check their social media profiles due to FOMO. It is caused by a variety of factors (missing news, crucial posts, direct messages, and live chats.) 

Well, this can result in problematic use and the loss of interactions and activities in real life for people who experience it.

8. Less Confidence ~ Body Image 

When we see influencers, how well they maintain their fitness, their daily life routine, luxurious life – this is what all comes to mind. And then we start comparing what we follow, how we look, and what we do. There is a lot of back story behind how these influencers on social media showcase themselves. They are very similar to you, trust me.

These comparisons cause us to feel inadequate and set irrational standards. How we are, what we want to do, how we have planned things – all of these things get put aside when social media comes in between.

To get the same surge of pleasure, they need more likes, comments, and engagements. We keep flooding our minds with images, videos, memes, adverts, and commentary in an attempt to get more of the dopamine “reward.”
